I love Shay Savage’s books and Alarm was another one of hers
that I really enjoyed. She really knows
how to write strong, sexy males! Unlike
the rest of Shay’s books, Alarm is told from the point of view of the female
lead, Chloe. Even though Chloe was a little reserved at first I liked seeing
the world from her view.
Chloe played everything safe; she never spoke without
thinking before she spoke, never did anything without planning it out first,
and never did anything that was considered dangerous. She lived her life in her safe little
box. Well, that’s until she meets Aiden
Hunter. To strangers Aiden looks like a
very scary man, covered from neck to feet in tattoos and built like a body
builder, Aiden comes across as very intimidating. But under the rough exterior Aiden is actually
a gentle, caring man with lots of secrets and a sad past.
A night out with friends leaves Chloe too drunk to drive
home, in walks Aiden with a helping hand and a ride home. Chloe is drawn to Aiden, so when he offers
for her to come home with him to Miami for the week Chloe excepts even though
everything in her body is telling her NO!
Chloe enjoys a week of trying new things, stepping out of her comfort
zone and allowing Aiden into her heart all the while her inner alarm is telling
her this is too crazy but together Chloe and Aiden just might learn how to
actually live.
I enjoyed Alarm, I liked Chloe even though she over thought
pretty much everything at first, but that’s what made Aiden so great. He taught her how to stop doing that and just
be. Even though Chloe and Aiden looked
like complete opposites they were perfect for each other, he was like the Yin
to her Yang. There was never a dull
moment in the book, it jumps right into the story and just keeps moving with
the next adventure they take. Plus there is some mystery and action mixed into
the story. So a little bit of everything for everyone.
