What the Lightning Sees: Part two is another great instalment in the Lightning series. Part two picks up shortly after where part one stops. After hearing a conversation between Jake and Haven’s boss, Haven is upset by what she hears. Thinking that everything that had happened between herself and Jake is all a lie, Haven is heartbroken. Building back up her walls and pushing Jake out even when he reaches out to set things right with her. Focusing on a new story about a prestigious dating service, Haven dives into a few dates with the men that belong to the service to get her story. Jake again is assigned to photograph Haven and her dates. Of course, nothing goes as planned. Jake isn’t afraid to show Haven his true feelings for her and that he is jealous of the time she is spending with these other men. He fights to break down the walls Haven has built up and to win her back.

As like part one, part two is just as fast of a read and ends with a crazy cliffhanger I didn’t see coming. Louise Bay is fast becoming one of my must read authors. Her writing style is exactly my cup of tea! I can’t wait to get my hands on part three of What the Lightning Sees because I need more Jake and I have to find out if Jake and Haven will get their happy ending.

I really enjoyed Kissing Madeline by Lex Martin. I’ve been looking forward to this book since I read Dearest Clementine. Dearest Clementine is the first book in the Dearest series and in that book is when we first meet Daren. Daren was Clementine’s ex-boyfriend and even though he had done her wrong, I still really liked him by the end of the book, so I was really happy he was getting his own story.

Daren is now a hot new professional football player focused only on football, especially after his long term girlfriend have broken up. After catching her boxer boyfriend cheating on her, Madeline has sworn off man or more like men that are athletes. Madeline is assigned to report on a sports segment at work that centers around football and the hot new football star, Daren. Not only are they working together, but they are also living across the hall from each other. Daren and Madeline are very attracted to each other, but are both dealing with trust issues after the last relationships. Unable to fight their attraction for each other, things start to heat up and fast. Friends with benefits is the plan, but the more they spend time together the more their feelings grow.

Daren and Madeline steamed up the pages for sure, but they also had a fun and caring relationship which I like to read. Plus Daren was so good at being sweet and caring to Madeline, but also could get down and dirty!! For those who have read the two previous books they will be happy to know that both couples from the other books are back. It was great to see how their relationships have grown. Kissing Madeline can be read a stand-alone, but I would recommend to read that other books in the series because they are just as good.

Only For Us in the third installment in the Only series.

Only For Us picks up right where Only For You leaves off, but in this installment we get to see what happens now that everyone knows that Grayson is alive and is back in town. Like the previous books, Only For Us in short, steamy, but this has the very adorable Cally in it. That little girl was super cute!

What I really like about this series is that each installment is almost like watching a TV episode the way it’s told. With each book that comes out we get the next episode. I can’t wait for Only For Forever, the final installment.

Grind: A Legal Affairs Story by Sawyer Bennett

If I was going to describe Grind in one word, it would be HOT!!!! Bennett ups the steam and the relationship between Cal and Macy in Grind.

Grind picks up right where Clash leaves off. Macy needs a lawyer and Cal is the best man for the job, one problem, they both still want to have sex with each. Being Macys lawyer and sleeping with her is a conflict of interest for Cal. So they both decide to keep the sexual part of their relationship secret. As feelings grow Cal wants more from Macy but Macy is too scared to share all of her and her secrets with Cal.

Macy grew on me a little more in Grind from Clash, but I still don’t really connect with the character though. Some of the sex scenes were a little kinkier or risqué for my taste too. Grind ends with another cliffhanger, so I will definitely be reading Yield. I want to see Macy and Cal get the HEA.

What the Lightning Sees follows Haven Daniels and Jake Harrison. From their first meeting Haven and Jake dislike each other based on what they each believe the other one is like. But when they are forced to work together they slowly start to realize that there is more to the other than they thought.

I really liked Haven; she came off to others as an uptight and bitchy, but because of that she didn’t have a lot of friends. I don’t think she really means to come off like that and because of that I felt bad for her. I felt she really did want to be liked by her co-worker, but she was just kind of the odd duck out in her office.

I first became of fan of Louise Bay when I read her Empire State trilogy and loved it, so I was excited when I received my arc for her new series What the Lightning Sees. I so wasn’t disappointed, I really enjoyed part one and can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.
